Through the Sources is a platform focused on aiding Social Studies teachers in the mission to use their classrooms as an avenue to grow the engaged citizenry across their country and around the world at large. Through in person and/or virtual PD, one-on-one coaching, digital courses, articles, and curated content educators learn how to increase civic engagement by teaching content through a focus on process skills cultivated through hands on interaction with primary and secondary sources. A key aspect of Through the Sources is dedicated time for educators to create or begin to create their own active primary source focused lesson, many times in group settings. I believe it is vital to help fellow teachers craft time and space to focus on our pedagogical skills and create better lessons with input from our peers.
